China remains the largest nationality, followed by Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, and Myanmar; permanent residents number about 930,000, with the Technology/Humanities/International Services visa category around 460,000. Illegal residents numbered 71,229 on July 1, down 3,634 from six months earlier, with Vietnam the largest source, followed by Thailand, South Korea, and China.
