At Uda High School, international students in the two-year caregiving program joined a cultural learning session led by instructors from Ohara Yukata School. They learned about yukata’s heritage and how it is passed down through generations, then practiced dressing: women were shown how to adjust excess fabric and tie a cute obi, while men received styling tips. The students from Thailand and Myanmar said the experience felt like stepping back into historic Japan and that wearing yukata made them feel dignified as they enjoyed the culture.
